Customer Reviews
$349 w/free shipping, hard to complain as most comparable teak rockers are 2x the $'s. Chair is manufactured and packaged in Indonesia, not in USA. Shipment arrived about 10 days later than seller (ATC) estimated, but seller ; shipper did provide advance delivery notice w/phone call. Cardboard packaging was sturdy but was very beat up upon arrival(probably from international journey more so than from local shipper) and item was damaged as a result (split seat-board was easily re-glued, but this required an extra day of careful clamping and resetting); teak is good-looking, moderately (but sufficiently) sturdy with a nice finish/seal. Note chair design has no front or rear bottom "stretchers" to "box in" the frame below the seat - this could result in side-to-side weakening and separation or splitting of chair seat over time, especially if side pieces are not initially tightly screwed into place (or quickly re-tightened as they loosen). Assembly was not difficult but required a rubber mallet and some TLC and a few hand tools - I would recommend paying more to buy a pre-assembled chair if you are not handy with tools - the main reason being that while the square-head screws are brass (to prevent rusting) they are soft and can easily strip, especially if you do not take care to slowly (and squarely) ratchet them home - this is not easy, and if you strip the head, forget about it! Also, you will need to separately purchase inexpensive wood "buttons" to cover screw holes for a smooth finish. Chair has a high back and seat is contoured - and comfortable - it looks vintage. Bottom line - you cannot beat the quality for the low price, and while assembly is not that difficult, you really need to have tools and skill because if you do encounter fitting problems, you will be very disappointed.
