Just received this set and am very pleased with it. It arrived as scheduled by UPS heavy freight, and there was no damage in shipment. The furniture was very well-packed.
The quality of this furniture is surprising considering the price. At $849, including shipping, it is a bargain. I've shopped for solid teak furniture for over a year, both online and in retail stores, and this furniture cost less than half of what it would anywhere else. A phenomenal deal!
I am a fine furniture maker and understand old world wood joinery. This furniture arrived completely assembled. ALL joints are done in classic pegged mortise and tennon joinery. There are no screws, bolts, or any other metal hardware except for the hinges on the butterfly legs. The wood is smoothly sanded and ready for teak oil treatment.
I finished applying the first coat of teak oil yesterday and the furniture is simply gorgeous. My next door neighbor couldn't believe I intended it to be outdoor furniture. The chairs are solid with beautiful cures. The table's butterfly feature works wonderfully, with the table opening to a perfectly flat and solid surface.
I only gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star because there are some significant glue spots that show up once the oil is applied. They don't really detract from the beauty of the furniture but they do give it a bit of a rustic look. With my understanding of how difficult it is to glue up furniture without glue spots, I find these to be perfectly reasonable given the low price of the set.
Overall, excellent value and quality with this set!
We ordered the set and it was delivered within 1 1/2 weeks. Very well wrapped and on a pallet. Everything was in great shape and looked beautiful! Had a little issue with one of the legs being short but they sent out a small shim to even it out right away, they even called me to let me know they were shipping it. It even looks better with teak oil. Looks like it will last a very long time
