I used to have one of those irritating service bells on my counter at work and ordered this to replace it. Only problem now is that people like the sound so much, they can't resist tapping it! I do wish it was a bit more of a deeper sound and not quite so "tinny", but it's much better than the regular metal service bell and when someone does tap it, I don't want to chuck it out the window! LOL
